IFDG is an organization of educational opportunities and networking possibilities, which allow us to keep up with the most recent innovations within our industry. Our members have the opportunity to purchase through the IFDG Discount Buying Programs that offer them products at a more competitive rate. We have state approved continuing education hours at our annual conference and at our around the state round table discussions throughout the year. Our members have a real desire and concern for the betterment of the industry and our profession. We look at many different issues concerning the funeral industry as they pertain solely to the operation of independently owned funeral homes. Each issue given consideration by the association must involve two critical elements: (1) How will it help us to serve our families? and (2) How will it help us keep our businesses financially sound? Corporate funeral operations have changed the face of funeral service. We now have a duty to provide a voice for the independent firms. We work closely with the Secretary of State office in monitoring legislation that effects the funeral industry.
